Spirit Rock Side Trail - 2.6 km

Starting at the Spirit Rock Conservation Area parking area, this side trail first visits the nearby Corran ruins, then meets the main Trail at km 2.9. From here it follows the cliff edge south, and then heads inland at the junction with the Wiarton Side Trail. The trail then continues north to complete the loop by a retur to the parking area.

Rural Rocks Side Trail - 4.1 km

This satellite loop side trail is not connected to the main Trail. From Sauble, take Bruce Rd 13 east to Northacres Rd. Parking for four cars and access to the trail is 30 m north of the intersection.

Following the loop clockwise, hikers first pass through a wonderland of enormous rocks let from a time whe this area was the shoreline of an ancient glacial lake. This section is vry rugged walking. Next, the trail passes through a successional maple-birch-balsam forest. After visiting beaver ponds, the trail winds along a ridge with views to the east before it returns to the start of the loop. Please stay on the marked route: other private trails cross th side trail.

Obese Side Trail - 220 m

Branching off and then rejoining the southern portion of the Rural Rocks Side Trail, this short side trail provides a challenging alternative route. Taking this optin will add 100 m to the length of the Rural Rocks loop (4.2 km instead of 4.1 km).

Whicher Side Trail - 1.4 km

This side trail is named for one of the original founding families of Colpoy's Bay. Starting at km 7.6, it heads north for 200 m to a unique underground stream, and then turns right, following the farm road into the forest to meet the Colpoy's Bluff Side Trail. The trail turns right to rejoin the main Trail at km 8.6.
